Winery review: It’s super-sweet, but this is my kind of Moscato! It’s very light and very fruity, making it the perfect wine to wind down over after a long day at work, or to just chill and drink on weekends, or to…hell, who am I kidding, I’ll be drinking this stuff all the time! And for $3.99 a bottle (in OH; less most everywhere else) it tastes like a splurge without having the price tag of one. This stuff will have a constant presence in our home, assuming our local Aldi can keep them in stock. Excellent wine for the price, though the sweetness, which is even more blatant than other Moscato’s I’ve had, will no doubt turn some people off. Very glad that Winking Owl has finally added Moscato to their ever-growing list of wine varieties!

Wine Folly: "This highly perfumed grape is used in a variety of styles and sweetness levels.
My review: I bought this wine initially because of the price. It was $3.50, which I thought was hilarious for it couldn't be good. The wine was very light, there was not much taste to it rather than a strong sweet peach taste. I could taste the citrus aftertaste. The wine was very very sweet which I expected from a three-dollar dessert wine. I enjoyed it, though I couldn't have more than a glass for it was too sweet.
I tried it chilled and ate it with spicy turkey sandwiches. Probably not the best pairing, but Wine Folly explained that Moscato either goes well with spicy food or desserts, so I decided to try it with spicy sandwiches. I enjoyed the contrast of the sweetness with the spicy, though the flavors of fruit wine with turkey did not mix well.
