Hello All!
Welcome to my wine blog! I'm starting this as an assignment for a wine course I'm taking.
I am 22 and currently only have a little experience with wine. I have had my fair share of cheap wine from the grocery store, but only for drinking purposes rather than experiencing the wine. As of right now, I only know a little about the types of wine, for I only look for the cheapest wines I can. I also don't quite understand the lingo, so forgive my naivety throughout this first post.
With the very few wines I have tried, I have come to learn that I enjoy white wines more than red, and I would prefer sweet over dry. Something that I do know I enjoy is fruit wines, such as Moscato. Though, as I've said before, I have very little experience with anything wine, so my preferences are subject to change throughout this semester of wine learning.
My family is very big on wine; my parents are loyalty members at multiple different wineries. Because I have very little experience with wine, my hope with this course is that I come out able to converse with my family about the different types of wine they drink and enjoy. I feel that having a strong amount of knowledge of wine and its lingo is a huge power move, especially when conversing with people older than you.
Throughout this blog, I will hopefully be trying many different types of wines as well as wine pairings. I enjoy a good charcuterie board, and I have been informed that pairing the right wine with certain foods can enhance the experience tremendously. I have often just taken the cheapest fruit wine I can find for my charcuterie nights, and I've noticed the pairing to be very tasteful. I am looking forward to being able to choose the right types of wine with the right types of cheese and enjoying the tasty pairing.
I'm excited to see where this course takes me, and what wine knowledge I'll be leaving with.
